I remember the first bible verse I could recite without looking. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” I’m going to be honest with you. That’s still the only bible verse I have memorized. Even though I only remember one verse verbatim it’s one of the most powerful verses. It’s a verse that sums up the Christian faith perfectly. I believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God and I KNOW for a fact that even though I may leave this earth I WILL have eternal life in heaven with Him.
I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter what you remember with your brain and can quote with your mouth. It’s what you have embedded in your heart that matters. I’m not less of a Christian because I can’t recite bible verses to you. I’m not as inadequate as I use to feel. God has a purpose for me and it might be to let other’s who are feeling the same way I did know that it’s O.K. God doesn’t care. Just be honest with your faith and beliefs. Don’t hide who you are in Christ. Let the world see it and you may be an inspiration to someone else. After all, I may not be able to recite the scripture to you but I know what it is and I can be a living example of what it says.
